Pack and Ship an Order

A repeatable packing routine that reduces damage, returns and messages.

Packing is the part of a handmade business the customer actually touches. A consistent routine is faster, produces fewer breakages, and means you do not have to think about it on a busy day.

Check the item against the order before wrapping anything Colour, size, personalisation and quantity. Unwrapping a packed parcel to fix a mix-up costs more time than checking first.
Photograph the finished piece optional Straight after making is when it looks best, and the photo is your evidence if a damage claim is ever made.
Include the care instruction card Washing, cleaning or curing advice. It prevents most "it broke after a week" messages.
Protect the item, not just the box Padding around the item stops it moving. A well packed box with a loose item inside still arrives damaged.

Check the address and the postage tier Read the address out loud. Tracked versus untracked is a decision to make deliberately, not by accident.
Record the tracking number against the order It answers most "where is my order" messages without you having to look anything up.
