Definition
Mixing ratio
The proportion of resin to hardener, published by the manufacturer as a ratio such as 1:1, 2:1 or 4:1. Getting it wrong is the most common reason a pour never cures properly.
The ratio is by volume or by weight depending on the product, and the two parts usually have different densities, so a weight ratio and a volume ratio are not interchangeable. Use the measure the data sheet specifies, for both parts.
Tools that use this term
Mixing Ratio Calculator
Split a batch of resin into part A and part B for any ratio, by volume and by weight, with the percentage each part takes.
Resin Calculator
Work out the millilitres and grams of mixed resin a mould needs, and split it into part A and part B at your ratio.
Resin Weight Calculator
Convert between the volume and the weight of a resin mix at a density you choose, in millilitres, litres, grams and kilograms.
