Fragrance load

The weight of fragrance oil in a candle expressed as a percentage of the WAX weight, not of the finished candle. A 6 percent load in 100 grams of wax means 6 grams of fragrance oil.

Common working ranges are roughly 6 to 10 percent for soy and soy blends, 3 to 10 percent for paraffin, and 3 to 6 percent for beeswax. The fragrance supplier publishes a maximum usage rate for each oil, and that figure always governs over a general range.
