Wholesale price

The price a maker charges a shop, which then sells at retail. The long standing convention is that wholesale is half of retail, which means the maker has to be able to make a profit at half price.

That is a demanding test, and many handmade products cannot pass it. Before agreeing to a wholesale order, work out the profit at half your retail price after all your costs, and be willing to say no if the answer is negative.
